Aldridge, Batum out for Trail Blazers
March 20th, 2009 Posted in NBA basketball newsLaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum, the Portland Trail Blazers starting forwards, missed Thursday nights game against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of injuries.
Both players were injured in the fourth quarter of Wednesday nights 95-85 win over Indiana. Aldridge, the Trail Blazers second-leading scorer, suffered a concussion while Batum, Portlands best perimter defender, sprained his left ankle.
Channing Frye started in Aldridges spot while Travis Outlaw started for Batum.
Aldridge was injured when he hit head against the chest of Indianas Jeff Foster while driving to the basket. He fell to to the floor and had to be helped off the court. Aldridge spent the night in an Indianapolis hospital.
Batum sprained his ankle when he jumped to block a shot and landed on Danny Grangers foot. He had to be carried off the court.
Aldridge averages 18.0 points a game while Batum scores 5.3 points a game.
