Orlando Magic Betting – Disappearing Act

January 28th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

There was no sports betting rabbit coming out of the hat for the Orlando Magic last Monday in Boston as they just never showed up and were crushed by 31 points despite Boston missing starters Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo as the Celts looked like champs and the Magic looked like chumps.

The final score was 87-56 and it wasn’t even that close and online best sportsbook players need to pay attention to the residual results of such a beating.

Newly-activated Mickael Pietrus also did not play for Boston and although Marquis Daniels was banged up, he still tried but could only muster 8 points in 28 minutes.

For a team that is supposed to challenge for the Eastern title, Orlando was extremely disappointing and they have been a bad cover team so far this season. They only covered 8 of their first 16 games and were worse going under the totals number 11 of the 16.

That is what happens when a team relies on perimeter shooting to win. It’s just not easy to do consistently and win in this league especially as the season progresses and the real basketball approaches in the playoffs.

Not one Magic player was close to shooting 50% from the field Monday and the coveted Dwight Howard was just 4 for 15. How can a guy that big, talented and agile only make 4 shots?

Down by 10 points at the half Monday, you would have thought this would have been a wake-up call for Orlando to compete and take the short-handed Celts to task but they only could manage 4 field goals in the second half.

Yup, 4 field goals. Your grand kids could have scored more and Orlando only shot 15% from the floor in the second half.

This was not a case of Orlando being tired. They had not played in 48 hours yet scored the least points in franchise history.

With the Boston front office making noise about breaking up the Big Three of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, this was a huge win for the Boys from Beantown.

At least the coach of Orlando told it like it was, Coach Van Gundy: “It didnt start well, and it just got worse. This was the most dominating thing Ive ever seen against one of my teams. It was just a total beat down. You leave it here (in Boston) Everyone has had their butts kicked before, thats the way it goes. Just call it what it was, absolute domination."

The good news for Orlando is that they will have a chance to get revenge in Orlando on Thursday against this same Boston team and it will be interesting to see what kind of club shows up.

As far as NBA Betting sites wagering on the other games coming up, Orlando could be in tough Friday. They have to take the emotional train on the road and visit the young and hungry New Orleans Hornets.

It won’t get any easier on Sunday when the Magic host the talented Pacers and then they have to head to Philly to face conference powerhouse in the 76ers.

This may be the time of the year to take the points against the Magic and look for some other non-efforts.

The Chicago Bulls win a very important road game over the Miami Heat.

January 28th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

Although it is still early in the NBA season, the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat will meet in a key Eastern conference matchups this weekend that could coincide with the return of one of the game’s biggest stars. Heat guard Dwayne Wade has missed the past couple of weeks after suffering a bad ankle sprain in a loss to the Denver Nuggets, but should be ready to return in time to take on the top team in the conference according to the NBA standings.

Chicago Bulls @ Miami Heat
Sunday January 29, 2011 – 3:30 PM ET
American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida
NBA Sports Betting Line: Miami Heat – 1.5

The Heat will be eager to prove that regardless of what the numbers say, they are still the better team overall. Miami has won five of its last six games even with Wade out of the lineup thanks to the play of Lebron James and Chris Bosh among others, and should be even stronger with Wade back.

NBA Betting Preview: Chicago Bulls

According to the sports bet numbers, the Bulls are undoubtedly the most complete team in the association, ranking 10th in total offense, and first at the defensive end of the floor. The tandem of Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah lead a Chicago team that ranks first in the NBA in rebounds, while reigning MVP Derrick Rose continues to average 8.6 assists per game for a team that ranks third in average helpers. While their may not be any major holes in the Bulls’ team, they will need to prove they can step up and play their best against their best opponents, and a win at Miami would be a good start.

NBA Betting Preview: Miami Heat

With Wade out of the lineup, James’ averages increased to make up for the gap, and he has played some of his best basketball over the past six games, averaging more than 30 points over that span. James also leads the Heat in average rebounds with 8.1 per game and assists with 7.1, but the story hasn’t changed in regards to the one area that the King still needs to prove himself in. James has never been able to play his best basketball in the biggest games, but challenging the best defense in the association would be a good start. The potential return of Wade and the play of Bosh both down-low and from the perimeter with his ability to stretch the defense are two other crucial areas in Miami’s favor for this game.

NBA Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick

While James still needs to prove himself to those that doubt his ability to come up with his best in the Heat’s biggest games, this contest will mean much more to the sportsbooks underdogs, as they continue to work towards finishing with the best record in the conference. Rose still gets the majority of the attention in Chicago, but his supporting cast needs to be given more respect as they are one of the most underrated in the NBA.

I am looking for someone to share sports betting ideas.

January 28th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

Maybe create a blog or something. I am pretty good at anything that is not college. NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL. I am really good with numbers and keep stats on everything. For the past two years, I have been profitable and I am getting better, but I feel that I need to get to that next level.

what do you mean Ideas???? there are only a few ways to bet. Moneyline, spread, parlay, etc… or do you mean to give your thoughts and “picks” to share.

Keep in mind unless yo ualready have alot of followers/friends it will be hard, there are tons of gambling blogs already out there from professionals.

I have worked for 2 of the biggest Sports Pick Companies in Las Vegas. Trust me when I tell you, they don’t rely on their pick records to convince customers to pay them money. It is a game of deception and arrogance. I know the business inside out and eventually I got so disgusted I had to leave and become a professional gambler on my own. However, let me just say, some of these sports pick companies make several million dollars per year. I know how they do it and what must be done.

I have played with the idea of opening my own website for Sports Picks, because without sounding to arrogant, I know the ins and outs of how they make so much money.

The one thing you need to realize is, NOBODY hits 70% of their ATS bets. I am a 20 year professional and I know more than probably anyone you have ever met, and I hit around 60%, which is darn good. An amateur might hit about 53% (which I certainly did for about a decade). That means the difference between a professional and an amateur is about 6 correct picks out of a 100. A professional should hit about 60 out of 100 picks ATS, whereas an amateur will hit 50% t0 55%.

Don’t ever believe these sports pick companies or an individual when they say they hit 70% or higher on their ATS bets, they are blatantly lying to you.

Nba . Which team should i bet on tonight

January 27th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

Which team from one of these 2 games , would you confidently say theyd win

La Clippers vs. La Lakers -
or
Trail blazers vs golden state warriors.

Both will be close games, I’d keep my money

If I were you, I´d bet against L.A., because Clippers with B. Griffin and C. Paul, has just become a very powerful team; while L.A.´s star in KB, and he´s got his knees really hurt.
You shouldn´t bet to the second game because they are like similar teams talking about stadistics.

LA Clippers vs LA Lakers go with the Clippers.

clippers

I think the Lakers in a very close game. The Blazers will also have a close game with the Warriors, but I think Portland will come out on top, since they defeated the Grizzlies pretty convincingly last night, while the Warriors lost to them.

Betting On Oklahoma City Golden State – Thunder Look To Provide Warriors With Example Of Championship Caliber

January 27th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

The Golden State Warriors are looking for a foundation for future success. Their next opponent will give them the perfect example of what it takes. While the Warriors are once again looking for the answer near the bottom of the Western conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder are cruising alone atop the standings thanks to some impressive play both at home and on the road. Franchise cornerstones Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have been complimented by some solid veteran pieces, establishing the Thunder as legitimate championship contenders this sports betting season.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Golden State Warriors
Friday January 27, 2012 – 10:30 PM ET
Oracle Arena, Oakland, California
NBA Sports Bet Line: Oklahoma City – 6.5

While the Thunder have clinched some blowout wins over the past 10 days, the Warriors continue to get burned by close losses, where a couple of specific plays can be keyed in on as having a huge impact on the final outcome. New coach Mark Jackson hasn’t lost faith, but he, like his players, is learning that winning in this league won’t come easy.

Betting On Oklahoma City Golden State Preview: Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City was considered powerful enough with the tandem of Durant and Westbrook each averaging over 20 points per game, but the addition of James Harden to that group has taken them to another level. Harden is averaging 16.7 points per game, with 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists, and he was a plus-32 against the Detroit Pistons while scoring 24 in a 99-79 win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday. The Thunder is playing good basketball on both ends of the floor right now, and have developed a knack for the spectacular.

Betting On Oklahoma City Golden State Preview: Golden State

Another couple of close losses to the Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies pushed the Warriors to 5-11 on the season, and it may take some time before they have what it takes to come out on top when it comes down to the wire. While an offense led by Monta Ellis’ 23.1 points per game ranks 13th in the NBA, the defense has struggled to get the job done when it counts the most, and it has turned potential wins in to losses. Golden State will need to work hard as a team and learn to bear down in order to play better when the game is on the line, and it will take time.

Betting On Oklahoma City Golden State Preview: Outlook & Pick

Regardless of their status as road best sportsbook favorites, the Thunder have gotten the job done away from home this year, and should have no problem making the trip to Oakland and picking up another W against a Warriors’ team still searching for consistency. Golden State has some nice young pieces that in the right situation could excel, but finding the veteran players to surround them with and the system to get the most out of them at both ends of the floor will take time, just like it did in Oklahoma City.

Betting New York Miami – Lebron, Heat Look To Keep Anthony, Knicks Grounded

January 27th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

The Big Three of the Miami Heat has been getting the job done as the Big Two of late with Dwayne Wade resting an injured ankle. Considering the play of the New York Knicks lately, perhaps they should give some rest to one of their starters. While the Heat have managed to remain near the top of the conference even with Wade on the sidelines, the Knicks continue to flounder with a losing record, and if they don’t turn things around soon their could be some big changes on the way. Miami enters this game as the best sportsbook favorites, but the Knicks are the team being weighed down by expectations.

New York Knicks @ Miami Heat
Friday January 27, 2012 – 8:00 PM ET
AmericanAirlines Arena, Miami, Florida
NBA Sports Bet Line: Miami Heat

The Knicks went all-in that free agent-signing Tyson Chandler would be the missing piece that would elevate them to contenders in the Eastern conference, but with just six wins through their first 16 games that has hardly been the case. New York still has some time to right the ship and get on track, and a win at Miami would go a long way.

Betting New York Miami Preview: New York

A six-game losing streak that included losses to the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets at home has Knicks’ fans beyond restless, and it doesn’t help that they now have to play four-straight on the road. Carmelo Anthony remains the face of the franchise with a team-high 25.7 points per game, but he is taking too many shots to get to that point and constantly needs the ball in has hands to create. Chandler is doing his job with 9.9 points per game and a team-high 9.7 rebounds, but the Knicks will need more from Amare Stoudamire and its bench if they are going to keep pace with the rest of the association.

Betting New York Miami Preview: Miami

Even without Wade, Lebron James averaged over 30 points per game and the Heat won three of four heading in to Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Miami without Wade looks a lot like Cleveland did with James as the King continues to do everything on his own, with Chris Bosh and company chipping in around him. Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole appear to be a good fit as spot shooters that can hit off of James’ drive, but the team was expected to put up better numbers at their own end with the addition of Shane Battier to an already solid core.

Betting New York Miami Preview: Outlook & Pick

Based on the talent they have available there is no reason why the Knicks should be struggling this badly, unless of course that talent is overrated by sports betting bookies in the first place. Anthony and Stoudamire both seem to be having trouble with their conditioning in Mike D’Antoni’s offense, and that should be the difference again as Lebron and company to continue to put up big numbers with or without Wade back in the lineup.

Betting New York Miami Pick: Miami Heat

Should Robert Sarver just give up the Suns

January 26th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

Does anyone else notice that a team once top of the West is not even in playoff contention.

From losing Joe Johnson to Shawn Marion to Amar’e Stoudemire. Their roster just gets more and more bland as seasons go. The only guy that has been around is Steve Nash. Robert Sarver doesn’t seem to do anything about this either.

management says they will make a splash in 2012 FA, but who the hell will there be to sign?! Westbrook signed an extension, Kevin Love will stay with T-wolves. And i’d bet Dwight Howard will get traded and sign with whatever team he gets traded to.

It hurts to see that a team that was going to Conference Finals almost every season is not even in the playoffs anymore. You honestly have to TRY to screw up a team that bad.

Poor Nash is pretty much getting his career finished for him. He still has some in him. He had 17 pts 11 assists and 7 reb today against the Raptors.

Can someone tell Sarver he is the worst owner in the NBA atm. YES WORST THEN DAN GILBERT. Just leave Sarver, all us Suns fans hate you.

  • In the 7 years before Sarver bought the team, the Suns were 307-235, with 1 playoff series win. In the 7 years since he bought the team, the Suns are 372-202, with 7 playoff series wins.

He lost Joe Johnson because he didn’t want to give 12 mil a year to his team’s 4th best player. He lost Shawn Marion because his production had slipped and he was no longer worth the 16 mil a year he was making. He lost Amar’e Stoudemire because he didn’t want to give 100 mil to a 28 year old with a history of knee problems.

And looking back at those moves from an owners perspective.. Joe Johnson is always mentioned as one of the most overpaid players in the league, Shawn Marion saw his production slip much further in the years immediately following his trade from Phoenix, and Amar’e is having the worst year of his career in just year 2 of a 5 year contract. None of those moves have been terribly bad for the Suns (although Shaq didn’t work out).

And with these current Suns, they have 23 year old Markieff Morris, 26 year olds Jared Dudley and Shannon Brown, 27 year old Marcin Gortat, and 28 year old Channing Frye. They are only 1 great player from being a 50 win team, and with a likely high draft pick in a talent rich draft class, it could easily happen.

Betting On Orlando Boston – Celtics Brace For Visit From Magic Monday

January 25th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

Last week the Orlando Magic registered three wins, in four games, in five nights, a numerical sensation that has become common in an NBA season shortened by the lockout. However, the Magic should be well rested for this Monday’s game against the Boston Celtics after having the weekend off, especially since their rivals were on the court less than 24 hours before. The Celtics has their way with the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center on Sunday, but that win will be forgotten fast if they can’t carry over its momentum and come up with another against Orlando.

Orlando Magic @ Boston Celtics
Monday January 23, 2012 – 7:30 PM ET
TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts
NBA best sportsbook Line: Orlando Magic – 4

While the Magic has cruised so far this season, Boston has struggled out of the gate with just six wins through15 contests. Paul Pierce exploded for 34 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds in the Celtics’ win over Washington, and will need another big effort to have a chance at parlaying that success as sports betting underdogs at home.

Betting On Orlando Boston Preview: Orlando Magic

Even despite the rampant trade talk surrounding him, Orlando center Dwight Howard has managed to remain his usual dominant self, averaging an incredible 20.2 points and 16.1 rebounds this season. The Magic rank in the top-10 at both ends of the floor in terms of points scored and points allowed, and everything operates around Howard as the central figure. The 26-year old All Star can exploit the Celtics’ lack of size down low, and once he does it will be up to Ryan Anderson, Hedo Turkoglu, and company to continue to produce from the perimeter as they have all season.

Betting On Orlando Boston Preview: Boston Celtics

Containing Howard will be impossible for Boston, but they can limit his effectiveness by collapsing down low and attacking him at the other end of the floor. Pierce has averaged just 14.6 points per game this season, which is ranked third for the Celtics, and needs to be more assertive at the offensive end. Ray Allen could join Rajon Rondo on the list of Boston players that will sit out for this game after he left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, and if he can’t go then Boston will be forced to rely even more on its depth.

Betting On Orlando Boston Preview: Outlook & Pick

The best best sportsbook spread for this game could change depending on whether or not Allen can go, but don’t expect his status to change the overall outcome of this game. The Magic has an All Star in Howard that won’t be slowed down, and the depth on the outside to make the Celtics pay if they collapse down low. Orlando should have no problem covering the number for this game, so it makes sense to get in on the action as early as possible before it gets any higher.

Online NBA Basketball Betting – Hoosiers

January 25th, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

The Indiana Pacers may not have a Jimmy Chitwood, the sharpshooter in the Hoosiers movie, on the team this year but it has not stopped them from getting out to an 11 and 4 record, and the same amount of wins that the glamorous Miami Heat boast.

Basketball from this sports betting part of the country has always been basic, hard-nosed, fundamental, and mainly successful, but this edition of the Pacers team has the elements that may take them very deep into the playoffs this season as the proved Sunday beating the Los Angeles Lakers in L.A.

They produced the win by winning the battle of the boards and by shooting nearly 56% from the three-point line.

First the numbers.

Indiana only failed to cover 6 of their first 15 online best sportsbook games and they lost one of those covers in overtime. And all but one of the non-covers was on the road.

You don’t want to bring a knife to a gunfight and you don’t want to play Indiana if you are not committed to going to the glass. The Pacers are second best in the league to kick off the season in rebounding, trailing only division rival the Chicago Bulls.

They are also one of only 4 teams to start the 2011/2012 season holding teams to under 90 points a game but they will have to step it up bit time to have a good week against the spread starting Tuesday, but more on that later.

Personnel speaking, the Pacers have quality throughout. Roy Hibbert is a corner stone center. Danny Granger is the assassin. Recently acquired David West is a veteran that brings it every night and Darren Collison is a budding superstar that is basically a pass first point guard.

Like most winning organizations, the vibe and the hunger comes down from the top. Check out what Indiana Coach Frank Vogel said recently, Vogel: “We want teams to feel like they were in a heavyweight fight after they played against us. We want to play physical inside and be the stronger team. Part of our smash mouth attack involves playing with size and strength. We want our guards attacking the basket. We want our bigs playing through the post. We try to have one of our bigs along the baseline or in front of the basket at all times and the other one is rolling.”

Focus is clearly identified here and that is more than half the battle.

Consider the early struggles of the Los Angeles Lakers this season and it becomes crystallized.

With an entirely new offense and defense, the Lakers have no clue about their identity.

When you consider the Pacers were on the road for 7 of their first 11 games, their record becomes even more important for betting websites.

This week, they get room service again with three of their next 4 games on the pavement. They host the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, must play in Chicago the next night, have a day off before heading to Boston, then go to Orlando to end the road run. They could be vulnerable a bit this week.

On the positive side, you have to be able to compete if you are going to play for this club. Vogel: “ Since I’ve taken over, all I’ve talked about is togetherness. I never worked for Doc Rivers, but one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in watching the playoffs is that fact. When KG first got there, the culture changed, but he used the word togetherness on an almost daily basis.”

The reason basketball is such a beautiful compelling game is that when it flows; it’s like a classic jazz riff. Things flow, everybody touches the rock and the open player is rewarded.

That has been the mantra of Indiana.

Granted, Indiana will never be confused with the Big Apple, Los Angeles or South Beach, but that’s okay with their center.

Hibbert: “That’s fine, we’re the best kept secret. They can play Boston and Chicago on ESPN, but we’re the best-kept secret. That’s fine with us.”

Can you keep a secret?

Betting On Magic Celtics – Don’t Close The Casket On Boston Just Yet

January 22nd, 2012 Posted in NBA betting | No Comments »

NBA Betting players are definitely watching the decline of this edition of the Boston Celtics, and general manager Danny Ainge has said that he won’t hesitate to trade one of the “Big Three” ahead of the deadline. But the Celtics still have some life left and they’ll show it on Monday in a huge Eastern Conference showdown with Orlando.

What: NBA Betting
When: Monday, January 23rd, 7:30 PM ET
Where: TD Banknorth Garden, Boston, MA
Pick: Boston Celtics

Why Bet On Orlando Magic (10-4 SU, 8-6 ATS, 5-2 ATS road)

The Magic should be rested as they have the weekend off after a Friday night meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers at home, and they would be coming off an 85-83 overtime loss at home against San Antonio, which snapped a five-game winning streak. Dwight Howard went off with 24 points, 25 rebounds and three blocks, while Ryan Anderson had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Magic, but he was 1-of-6 from beyond the arc and the team was 4-of-21 from three-point land as a whole. Orlando shot a miserable 33.3% from the field, but they managed to outrebound the Spurs 60-41, including 18-4 on the offensive end. You could easily say that this game was lost during a bizarre moment in the third quarter, when Glen “Big Baby” Davis was called for a technical while protesting a foul call as he pulled his shorts down….yes, you read that right. Tony Parker would go on to hit the free throw, which may have been the point that tied the game for the Spurs.

Hedo Turkoglu (back) joined fellow forward Jason Richardson (knee) on the sidelines on Wednesday, although the San Antonio game was the third that Richardson had missed. The two are hoping to be ready for Friday’s game against the Lakers, but NBA betting players know that most teams are battling injuries right now because of the congested schedule, so there is no excuse. Their biggest concern surrounds Davis, who will be returning to Boston, where he spent the first four seasons of his career. Everyone knows Davis is an emotional guy, and the Celtics will try and goad him into a stupid play.

Why Bet On Boston Celtics (5-8 SU, 6-7 ATS, 3-5 ATS home)

The Celtics will also be in action on Friday night at home against Phoenix, and they probably played their best game of the season on Wednesday as they routed Toronto 96-73 at home to halt a five-game skid. Rajon Rondo hit seven of his eight field-goal attempts en route to a team-high 21 points, while Brandon Bass came off the bench with 13 points and nine boards for the Celtics, and even though it was only against the Raptors, the Celtics needed something to stop their slide. They passed the ball around nicely with 21 assists on their 34 field goals, they outrebounded the Raptors 45-38 and Boston turned the ball over just nine times as opposed to 16 for the Raptors. It was also good to get a blowout as Bass actually led the team in minutes played with 31, while Rondo and Ray Allen led the starters with 28. It was an impressive performance for a team that many NBA betting players are writing a eulogy for already, but that would be dangerous against an experienced team like the Celtics.

Rondo (wrist) should be ready for this game, although the Celtics do play on Sunday in Washington as well, and Keyon Dooling (knee) is also banged up, which means the Celtics may be forced to start Avery Bradley at the point. The Celtics will do everything in their power to get Rondo back to 100% (or as close as possible) before this meeting with the Magic, who are one of the teams that the Celtics are chasing. But Boston has larger problems, like not being in the playoff picture heading into the weekend. The Celtics really don’t care which seed they are going into the postseason, but first they have to get there.

How It Will Play Out

Boston should be the NBA betting favorites at home on Monday night, and they’re 4-1 SU and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five at the new Garden against the Magic, with three games going under the posted total (along with a push). The Magic may have an edge because the Celtics play on Sunday, but Boston will be aiming to put the Wizards out of their misery early so their big guns will be rested for Monday night.

The Celtics have had their issues scoring points, and both teams are solid defensively, so this should be another low-scoring affair with plenty of physical play. We’re leaning towards the Celtics at home, where they have been much better this season and they should focus their attentions on Anderson, who has improved and is a solid No.2 option to Howard, who will get his points anyway. If they can take away the other options, the Celtics should be able to shut down the Magic for a victory in your sports betting book.
